No one deserves to have to flee their home as a result of war and civil conflict, but the children wrapped up in the wrath of this crisis deserve a hopeful and safe future. A future motivated by education, creativity and love. It is estimated that over 14,000 unaccompanied minors have arrived in Europe this year, with 25,000 arriving last year. Imagine not only having to flee a war-ridden country, but having to flee it alone having lost your parents to the conflict, or on the perilous journey to safety. Not only do these children face every day dangers on arrival to Europe, but they are also made subject to human trafficking. Thousands and thousands of minors have gone missing across Europe, with very little hope of being found without papers or being known to the country they've arrived in. The ex-Prime Minister of the UK gave us his word following the push for the Dubs Amendment, that action will be taken to grant safe passage to unaccompanied minors across Europe. No action has been seen on this matter, that's why it's vital that we stand in solidarity for the innocent children of the crisis, and continue to put pressure on local MPs and the government to deliver on their promises.
